So I’m currently sat reflecting on a busy but exciting week 😁

I’m going to pretend that my week starts on Saturdays. So I started my week with an early morning start helping 6 lovely ladies get ready for a wedding in Staplehurst, Kent.

It was an early start although not as early as it possibly should have been. Usually I allow an hour per person for their makeup but that would have meant starting at 6am, not acceptable to anyone. I admit I was slightly concerned I wouldn’t be able to do it in time but turns out I shouldn’t have worried. Since I started my journey doing wedding makeup in Kent, it never fails to touch my heart each and every time.

Just as an aside, Amy’s Mum makes an awesome sausage sandwich.

The Monday saw the first installment of my new career as the makeup artist for a photography studio in Hollingbourne for their new Boudoir shoots. I was slightly scared as I’m required to sort the ladies hair also which I’ve not done before but my first endeavour into heated rollers went quite well, I just need to work on sectioning and tension but it was so much fun!

Monday was a test shoot so a friend of mine was modelling and it was a chance for me to get used to my new ‘office’

And also a chance for the extremely talented Azeem to work on the lighting and poses since it’s not a studio he is familiar with.

I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better outcome. As well as the makeup and the hair, I’m also required to chaperone and help with the poses so it will definitely help me with my selfies lol Should also help with speed when it comes to the wedding makeup as I only get 45mins to do both the hair and makeup!

Here’s a sneak peek at the outcome…

The rest of my week was filled with my usual day job of Office Manager and beauty appointments. Volume lashes on the Monday night, Lash lift and tint on the Wednesday and Henna Brows on the Thursday.

Unfortunately, the Henna Brow appointment didn’t quite go to plan and I screwed it up! Thankfully the lovely client wasn’t paying and I had pre-warned her that I wasn’t sure how they would come out, I meant in terms of shade not technical application πŸ™ˆ

So the blub of the brow took nicely, the rest not so much with the client fondly naming the two pronged ends as Swallow Brows. I have however learnt that there needs to be hair there in the first place for the Henna to really do what it’s meant to!

Friday morning was a bit of makeup for a lovely lady off to an awards night in Birmingham.

I’m annoyed as I forgot to take my ring light with me so the photo doesn’t quite do this justice but it was nice when her sister walked in and informed her that she didn’t look like a drag queen lol

So…. That was that. I’m now sat in a caravan in Great Yarmouth trying to be as still as possible so that I don’t wake my children up.

Love and Sparkles πŸ¦„
